Basic Information
Hampshire County is home to many working farms and orchards that produce an incredible range of agricultural products. In the past few years the local foods movement has arrived and led visitors to an interest in learning about where and how their food is produced. Many visitors to Hampshire County have inquired about how to contact local farms and learn about their products. In conjunction with the annual Heritage Days festival, held the weekend after Labor Day, some local farms permit visitors to their farms. The Romney Farmers Market is held every Saturday morning on Main Street in Romney from 9 AM until Noon. During Heritage Days, the farmers market hours will be extended until 3 PM. Farms that are farmers market vendors will then return to their farms and if they are participating in the Hampshire Farm Tour they will welcome visitors to their farms beginning about 4 PM. If a farm is not a Romney Farmers Market vendor they may welcome visitors earlier in the day. Its best to check with each farm that you may plan to visit. Please explore the lists and links to the right for further information. Using Google maps, search by farm name to find the exact farm location and to plan your travel route. Please monitor this web site for further details as they emerge.
